Circuits @ St Angelo
On Saturday, 7th October at Fort St Angelo, Birgu, Electronic Music Malta in collaboration with The German Maltese Circle presents two international artists alongside an experienced Maltese DJ.
The sound will be experimental, atmospheric, laid back electronic music – featuring Gareth Jones from the UK who will perform live as Electrogenetic, and Boris Potschubay from Germany who performs live as Jogging House and Salvatore Muscat, better known as Sequenchill who will be the DJ for the event.
Gareth Jones (Electrogenetic)
Gareth Jones is a legendary record producer. He is renowned for working with many outstanding artists such as Yann Tiersen, Grizzly Bear, Interpol, Erasure and Depeche Mode. For 10 years he worked in the iconic Hansa Studios in Berlin and in 1998 he produced none other than the cult Maltese Alternative band Beangrowers in their debut album 48K. Gareth performs live on modular synthesizer as ‘Electrogenetic’.
Jogging House
Jogging House hails from the city of Frankfurt in Germany, and has a free approach of composition and a relaxed, sensual sound. His tracks are about taking things slow and being in tune with yourself. Combining ambient soundscapes with laid-back grooves and countless micro melodies & details. Boris creates music that isn’t related to a certain time or place but aims to explore feelings and moods through sound. Taking his listeners along the journey. Besides making and sharing his own music, Jogging House is also the head of Seil Records, a label focused on optimistic ambient music. Releasing cassettes and vinyl LPs by like minded international artists like Hainbach, KMRU, Paperbark, Sofie Birch and many others.
Sequenchill
Sequenchill is Salvatore Muscat, a Maltese veteran DJ and music connoisseur who has a sweet tooth for ambient, chillout, and also curates a particular mix of his which he named ‘Techno for socialising’ which consist of dub techno and dirty techno with a hint of ambient. He cites his main influencers as being Pete Namlook, Mixmaster Morris, Dr Atmo, KLF, Move D, The Orb, Biosphere and Scanner.
