Mike Desira

A retired AirMalta employee, Mike started his first modular synthesizer project way back in 2015 and completed the first version of his modular synthesizer in the autumn of 2017.

In 2019, he unveiled his own ‘Big Baby’ Modular Synthesizer.  The first version of this modular synthesizer consisted of the following 5U modules: 4 VCO’s / LFO’s, 4 envelope generators, 2 joystick controllers, an oscilloscope, 2 filters and a pulse generator. Most recently, Mike created an expander unit which consists of the following additional modules: a drum module (based on the Boss DR55), an ARP-based filter, a Mini-Moog based filter, an Arturia-based filter, 2 LFOs, 2 Sample & Hold, 1 4 by 4 matrix mixer, 1 rectifier, 1 wave folder.

In 2020, Mike showed the interest in collaborating with EMM in the design of a Noise generating device, and ‘The Storbju Noise Monger’ device was born.
